Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the coordination of payroll. They audit and verify that the information prepared for Payroll processing is accurate. They manage the Payroll vendor and ensure tax liability and W-2's are prepared accurately and timely. They analyze and update processes as required by legislative changes and software upgrades.

NONE POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum Work Experience 3-5 years of Payroll processing and Payroll liability experience. Experience in high-volume payroll processing (1500+ employees) Required Licenses/Certifications ADP certification helpful. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Good written communication skills. Customer service attitude. High level of confidentiality. Preferred Qualification Associate's Degree Knowledge of Federal and State of Texas payroll legislation.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan. Conduct reflects HMHD's values and a commitment to HMHD's Code of Conduct. Attends the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs. Demonstrates proficiency in understanding the materials presented during the corporate integrity and compliance training and education program. Complies with all HIPAA standards. Keeps all payroll files organized, confidential and secure. Ensures that data entry of time and employee data into ADP is completed in an accurate, timely manner. Verifies the accuracy of vacation and sick pay accruals. Oversees the maintenance of Direct Deposit, W-4's, withholdings, garnishments and deductions. Assists with implementation of the scheduling system and all required system upgrades. Responds to employee inquires in a courteous, professional manner. Completes required training classes provided by ADP. Educates managers and employees on the appropriate use of the payroll and timekeeping system. Prepare final payments and update system records for terminations.
