Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to support payroll operations for an organization in Skagit County. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage payroll with accuracy, maintain compliance across multiple states, and contribute to dependable financial reporting. The right candidate will bring strong end-to-end payroll knowledge and confidence working in a fast-paced environment using ADP Workforce Now.
Responsibilities:
- Process semi-monthly payroll from start to finish for a mid-sized employee population, ensuring timely and accurate pay delivery.
- Review payroll data for completeness and resolve discrepancies related to earnings, deductions, time records, and employee changes.
- Reconcile payroll registers, tax withholdings, and related accounts to confirm alignment with financial records.
- Administer payroll activities for employees working in multiple states while following applicable tax and wage regulations.
- Prepare and record payroll-related journal entries to support monthly and periodic accounting close activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams to research payroll questions, correct issues, and maintain accurate employee payment records.
- Support payroll tax reporting and reconciliation processes, including state-specific obligations and filings.
- Maintain payroll documentation and system records in ADP Workforce Now to promote compliance, audit readiness, and reporting accuracy Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing full-cycle payroll processing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, including tax and compliance considerations.
- Experience handling payroll for organizations with approximately 101 to 500 employees.
- Proficiency using ADP Workforce Now for payroll administration and record maintenance.
- Ability to reconcile payroll data, identify variances, and resolve issues with a high level of accuracy.
- Working knowledge of payroll accounting processes, including preparation of payroll journal entries.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet recurring payroll deadlines.
