Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist, where your expertise will drive accurate financial management and seamless payroll processing. This vital role combines meticulous bookkeeping with comprehensive payroll administration, ensuring our organization maintains compliance with accounting standards and delivers timely, precise employee compensation. You'll be at the forefront of financial record-keeping, utilizing advanced accounting software to support our mission of operational excellence and transparency. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data and identify discrepancies promptly. Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections. Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Process payroll accurately for all employees, including tax calculations, deductions, and compliance with relevant regulations. Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions, ensuring data integrity for audits and reporting purposes. Assist with governmental accounting requirements and tax filings as needed, supporting compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Skills Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with Quicken is a plus. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping and GAAP standards. Expertise in bank reconciliation, account analysis, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation. Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and tax experience related to non-profit or corporate entities. Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation accurately. Familiarity with payroll processing systems and technical accounting concepts related to debits & credits. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as budgeting, financial report writing, and 10-key typing efficiently.
