Compensation Range:

Purpose of Job:
Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by applying principles of accounting to ensure complete and compliant processing of payroll and required wage and tax filings as follows:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads payroll operations by following established policies and procedures and keeping information confidential. Leads routine audit processes to verify timecard information for accuracy and completeness of hours and selected pay codes. Maintains payroll information to include, calculating and entering data and adjusting for retroactive pay, employee bonuses, and continuing education pay. Oversees garnishments of wages and payroll in arrears. Leads the calculation of payroll and prepares the payroll general ledger entry. Coordinates payroll liabilities, payments, and related account reconciliations with accounting staff. Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and answering staff questions. Processes accurate and timely quarterly and year-end reporting. Prepares reporting and responds to auditor requests in support of various audits. Supports payroll staff by providing training and reviewing their work for accuracy. Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred; some college-level accounting, business or related-field courses preferred. Minimum of four years' experience processing payroll required. Payroll software experience required.Skills :
Analyzing information, attention to detail, confidentiality, thoroughness, and general math skills required. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines required. Excellent oral and written communications skills required. Organizational skills, time management, and demonstrated competency in Excel required. Computer skills, including 10-key required. Valid drivers' license and insurance required. Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment is required.Physical Demands:
