About the Role The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring excellence in payroll administration. Through outstanding attention to detail, they ensure the accurate and timely completion of the company's weekly payroll in compliance with multiple state and union requirements. Key Responsibilities Responsible for accurate and timely payment of both certified and special payrolls; ensure hours, deductions, union dues, taxes and certified payrolls are submitted correctly Document and follow payroll processing standard operating procedures to support the accuracy of payroll process and data, this includes generating and maintaining standard operating procedures for all processes for which this role is responsible Collaborate with Human Resources to resolve and communicate employee paycheck issues Support 401(K) administration to include monthly payment submission,file uploads, and annual reporting requirements Provide monthly payroll account general ledger reconciliations Submit various monthly union remittance reports for plant and road crew covering multiple union jurisdictions Responsible for year-end payroll and W-2 processing including review of W-2's Generates and submits required compliance documents per customer contract specifications Support audits, other projects, and reconciliations for the Accounting and Finance Department as needed Qualifications Associates degree, BA in Finance or Accounting 1-2 years of experience supporting accounting Previous experience administering a company's payroll Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft office proficiency What "ROCKS" about Mid-States Concrete Industries?
