at Sauk Valley Bank & Trust Company in Dixon, Illinois, United States Job Description SUMMARY The Personal Banker serves as a trusted financial partner, building meaningful relationships with customers while delivering exceptional service and tailored banking solutions. This role blends consultative sales, customer education, and operational accuracy to ensure each interaction reflects the Bank's core values and commitment to the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Provides extensive personalized service to customers with specific or special banking needs. Engage customers in meaningful conversations to understand their financial goals and recommend appropriate products and services. Provides customers with account information and updates as requested. Delivers personalized service across multiple channels: in-branch, by phone, and digitally. Assists potential customers in establishing new accounts, consumer loans, and completing customer account files. Contribute to branch growth goals through outbound calling, community engagement, and referral generation. Participate in community events that strengthen the bank's local presence and relationships. Ensure compliance with Bank policies, security procedures, BSA requirements, and applicable regulations. Assist other staff in waiting on customers, answering telephones and performing other duties as necessary. Assist in the opening and closing of branch on a daily basis.

The position of Personal Banker is not responsible for the supervision of any employee(s).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work-related experience should consist of a financial institution operations, sales or customer service background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related. Utilize MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint with a high degree of proficiency Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in bank terminology and products and services. Strong knowledge of general office practices. Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
