Job Description
Position Summary The Universal Banker is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while supporting both transactional and relationship-based banking activities. This role serves as a key point of contact for clients, handling day-to-day banking needs while identifying opportunities to deepen relationships through appropriate products and services. The Universal Banker combines teller operations, account servicing, and basic sales responsibilities to support branch performance, client satisfaction, and deposit growth objectives. Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Relationship Management Deliver friendly, accurate, and efficient service across all customer interactions Build and maintain strong relationships with retail and commercial customers Identify client needs and recommend appropriate banking products and services Refer customers to appropriate internal partners (lending, treasury, credit, or loan operations) as needed Resolve client inquiries related to accounts, digital tools, and general banking services Transaction Processing & Teller Functions Process daily transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and check cashing Maintain and balance an assigned cash drawer and assist with vault operations as needed Process branch capture deposits, mobile deposits, and foreign checks Identify and handle counterfeit currency and complete required reporting (e.g., CTRs) Assist with wire transfers and change orders Account Opening & Maintenance Open, maintain, and close consumer and commercial deposit accounts in accordance with bank policies and regulations Collect, verify, and document required customer information across multiple systems Assist customers with account maintenance including address changes, online banking setup, and general servicing Support safe deposit box access and related services Branch Operations & Compliance Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements Follow bank policies and operational procedures consistently and accurately Support branch operations in-person and virtually via phone, email, and web Maintain confidentiality of client information at all times Product Knowledge & Sales Support Develop a strong understanding of all bank products and services Participate in branch sales efforts to support deposit growth and customer retention Contribute to meeting branch-level goals for account acquisition, cross-sell, and service quality Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent 1-3 years of banking or customer service experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment Preferred Previous teller or retail banking experience Exposure to deposit accounts, consumer lending, or commercial banking Skills & Competencies Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt to changing needs Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset Professional, dependable, and accountable Work Environment & Schedule Full-time role with typical hours Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, no weekends or federal bank holidays Ability to work in Eagan branch location periodically based on bank needs In-branch position requiring frequent customer interaction Key Performance Areas Customer satisfaction and service quality Transaction accuracy and operational compliance Deposit growth and referral activity Teamwork and collaboration Efficiency and reliability in daily operations • The bank will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities to enable them to perform the essential functions of the position, consistent with applicable law. Final pay will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, job‑related skills, and alignment with internal compensation practices.
