The Universal Banker is a cross-functional position which will perform activities both on Platform/Customer Service and the Teller line (if/when needed). The level of the position will be determined by skill level and experience of applicants. What you'll do: Learn and maintain up-to-date knowledge of all account types, products, services, and online account opening in order to advise and answer customer questions; recognize referral opportunities and introduce to appropriate team members Open accounts and process loan application requests for new and existing customers online and in the branch Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers Educate customers on consumer and business products and services Research and respond to more complex matters including customer issues in a timely manner, escalating to branch management as appropriate Organize daily branch work, maintain accuracy and proper documentation, complete required regulatory and operational reports, perform quality control, and complete currency transaction reports Assist with opening/closing of the branch as needed and ensure all opening/closing procedures are followed Meet branch goals for customer retention and deposit relationship growth Participate in bank-wide projects and committees as needed Assist with training of new branch/bank staff as needed Process a variety of customer transactions and payments in both the lobby and drive-thru, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, money orders, bank checks, and bonds; ensure confidential customer information is stored securely Balance cash drawer at end of shift/day Assist customers with access to safe deposit boxes and closure; adheres to respective procedures and guidelines Assist with balancing the vaults and ATM Assist with fulfilling all CRA responsibilities and actively participating on various community service projects Strive to maintain an inclusive team environment Comply with and maintain branch conformance with all established Bank policies and procedures as well as state, federal, and local regulations; assist with ensuring ongoing compliance with audit and security procedures and other applicable guidelines Help with coverage in Methuen, MA branch if/when needed Perform other responsibilities as needed What you will bring to the role: High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years customer service experience in banking Knowledge of bank products and services Cash handling experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Customer focus with the ability to build and maintain relationships and recognize opportunities Self-motivated, able to take initiative Ability to solve problems and provide solutions to customers' needs Proficient computer skills including Word and Excel Ability to multi-task and adapt to change
