Full Job Description Salary Range:
$76,128 - $102,793
Position Summary:
Responsible for analyzing all private pay inpatient accounts to determine if there is potential government programs coverage such as Medi-Cal, Victims of Crime or Medicare. Works closely with patients and family to assist qualified patients on obtaining Medi-Cal coverage. Relays pertinent information to Case Management to support with discharge planning. Process and completes charity care applications for private pay inpatient accounts that may qualify. Assist and screening Medicare patients who may qualify for Medi-Cal for secondary coverage. Secures any information that is related to the patient's financial status and determines the patient's ability to pay utilizing current hospital policies. Assists with the collection practices in obtaining copays and screening for possible Medi-Cal for ED patients. Obtains copays for all elective schedule procedures. Assist Patient Accounting Manager in overseeing the daily functions of financial counseling throughout all department. In addition to performing the essential functions of the job, may also be assigned other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Graduate or business school with courses in typing,
English and Mathematics Required:
1 year experience in a Heathcare setting completing of Medi-Cal applications with the State. Knowledge of State Government regulations with regards to Medi-Cal eligibility and application process preferred. Experience with Windows Operating System and Windows based programs. Internet skills desired. Proficiency in using EHR systems, Epic preferred, and other healthcare software.
