Job Description

Our Medical Financial Counselor is responsible for ensuring correct processing of all patient accounts and coordinating all facets for patient accounts, credits and collection of Accounts Receivable. This role ensures duties are completed accurately and timely while acting as a team player for optimum office flow and excellent patient account care. The Financial Counselor may be responsible for verifying insurance and providing financial counseling to assist with self-pay accounts, as well as billing and collection of insurance and self-pay accounts. The Financial Counselor works in a collaborative relationship with the financial team as well as with other departments and employees. Everything we do at PFC is guided by our

Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
Provide clear, compassionate financial counseling to prospective and current patients to support retention and access to care. Build ongoing relationships with patients, offering financial guidance throughout the treatment process. Explain fees, insurance benefits, and available financial options in person or by phone. Assist patients with insurance verification, authorizations, pre-determinations, and related paperwork. Serve as a liaison between patients, internal departments, and insurance carriers to resolve account questions. Set up payment plans according to guidelines, including contracts and required documentation. Collect and process patient payments and refunds accurately and in a timely manner. Support patients with applications for third-party financing and financial assistance programs. Address unpaid balances, verify account accuracy, and assist with refunds when needed. Maintain accurate documentation, follow-up notes, and required tracking tools or spreadsheets. Experience:
High School diploma or GED is required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum of 2 years' experience offering financial counseling in a health care related field required
Pay:
