FINANCIAL AID ADVISOR
(TITLE

Pay:
$28.00 - $31.00 per hour

Applicants must have a minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on Title IV Financial Aid experience in an educational institution. We are receiving many applications from candidates without financial aid experience and will only consider applicants with direct Title IV experience. The Salon Professional Academy, located at Westgate Center in San Jose, is a Redken-endorsed beauty school offering accredited Cosmetology and Esthetics programs. We are seeking an experienced Financial Aid Advisor to administer and process financial aid, support students throughout the funding process, maintain compliance with Department of Education regulations, and assist with institutional reporting and accounts receivable functions. $28.00 - $31.00 per hour Health, dental, and paid time off benefits Established, accredited institution Supportive leadership team Opportunity to positively impact students' educational and career goals Convenient Westgate Center location in San Jose Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of Title IV Financial Aid experience (Required) Strong knowledge of FAFSA, ISIRs, Verification, Pell Grants, Direct Loans, and Parent PLUS Loans Experience with R2T4 calculations preferred Knowledge of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements Strong understanding of Department of Education regulations and compliance Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Primary Responsibilities Communicate with students and parents regarding financial aid eligibility and funding options Package and award financial aid for students and Parent PLUS Loan applicants Collect and review FAFSA and ISIR documentation Ensure E-MPN completion & Entrance Loan Counseling is completed and documented Complete verification requirements when applicable Maintain accurate student financial aid files and documentation Collect signed Award Letters prior to class start dates Request and monitor Title IV disbursements Verify Satisfactory Academic Progress through student academic records Process aid disbursements using Direct Loan and Pell Grant procedures Track student hours and credits to verify aid eligibility Conduct exit interviews for graduates and withdrawn students Collect Exit Loan Counseling documentation Compliance & Reporting Support Assist with IPEDS reporting requirements Assist with Gainful Employment reporting requirements Maintain information used for the Net Price Calculator Assist with ERR worksheets and compliance documentation Support annual EZ Audit preparation Participate in annual financial aid training and professional development Assist with data collection for Program Reviews if selected Assist ownership with compliance monitoring and reporting activities Schedule Full-Time - 40 Hours Per Week Benefits Health Insurance Dental Insurance Paid Time Off Location San Jose, California (In Person and /or hybrid 2-3 days after training period) This position requires an in-person interview.
