Friday Responsibilities:

Conducts patient financial interviews to assist with the resolution of the patient's account, and to ensure compliance with hospital financial resolution policies. Advises and counsels patients and guarantors as to rights, responsibilities and procedures with regards to payment for care. Works with patients to identify the most appropriate account resolution. Assists patients with financial assistance applications as needed and completes charity processing for assigned patients, as appropriate. Assists patients with CICP paperwork and determination. Acts as a liaison with other departments of the hospital and physician offices. Acts as a liaison for patients and the billing department. Assists patients with financial needs. Assists patients with Medicaid eligibility referrals in a timely and complete manner. Recognizes patients in needs of financial assistance and provides charity applications or referrals to the Department of Human Services. Processes charity applications in a timely and complete manner. Verify patient insurance coverage at time of ER visit and collect copay, deductible or deposit on all patients at time of discharge. Verify demographic information. Arrange payment plans according to hospital policy. Visit all inpatients to explain billing process. Verify demographic and insurance information. Offer assistance, if needed.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent with one (1) year of related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation:

$19.00 - $21.85 per hour, depending on education and experience. Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increase, market adjustments, recognition bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.
