BMDA ONPAC
Department at our Baptist MD Anderson location here in Jacksonville, FL area.
Shift details:
Monday through Friday, working 8 hours between the hours of 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM. This role will primarily support to the Baptist MD Anderson Downtown location but this role will support all BMDA Campuses and will be asked to float between the BMDA Clay, BMDA South and BMDA Downtown campus as needed. This department serves an essential role as a point of contact for patients in one of the following areas of business- Patient Access (hospital & ED patient facing), BMDA, Contact Center, or Single Billing Office (SBO). The Team is a cross vertical group with a number one priority of serving the financial needs of the patients and families of Baptist Healthcare System. As a Patient Financial Advocate I, you will be responsible for: Integrate patient financial assistance throughout the healthcare system to provide a seamless patient experience. Educates patients and parties of their financial responsibility and assist with payment options and collection procedures. Counsel patients regarding insurance benefits and recommend alternative sources of payment and financial assistance when appropriate. Contacting insurance carriers and other sources and act as an advocate for the patient. Collaborate with managers, physicians, and servicing departments regarding any delay of service for scheduled physician visits, diagnostic testing, and procedures which have not been approved prior to the date of service. Identify eligibility for local, state, and federal programs Partners with case managers, clinical team members, and outside agencies (Medicaid, SSDI, foundation, co-pay assistance) to assist patients and their families in completing applications and obtaining maximum reimbursement.
Patient Financial Advocate I Experience:
1-2 Years of Health Insurance Experience 1-2 Years of Customer Service Experience 1-2
Years of Healthcare Experience Education & Credential Requirements:
