Nearly 23 years ago, 23-year-old Matthew Dicken grew frustrated with the issues plaguing the financial services industry and set out on a mission to change the industry standard and prioritize clients in retirement planning. What started as a small two-person team in a 1,200 sq. ft. office in Louisville, KY, has evolved into the Strategic Wealth Designers we now know, with 18 locations across the U.S. and almost 100 employees. As we continue to grow, we're looking for passionate individuals to help take us to even greater heights. But growth alone isn't the goal. Impact is. At Strategic Wealth Designers (SWD) , we don't hire people to fill seats. We hire professionals who take ownership, serve clients at the highest level, and raise the standard for what retirement planning should be. Titles don't build trust. Relationships and results do. The Mission You're not here to chase cold leads. You are here to own and grow client relationships and guide clients through some of the most important financial decisions of their lives. As a Financial Advisor at SWD, your role is to: Strengthen and retain existing client relationships Identify opportunities to deepen those relationships over time Drive growth through additional assets, referrals and expanded client engagement You will partner with the Lead Advisor to serve an established client base, but service alone is not the goal. Retention Relationship growth Assets under management growth Referral generation What You'll Be Responsible For The Financial Advisor serves as a relationship manager for an existing group of clients while working alongside the Lead Advisor to deliver planning guidance, service, and preparation support. This role requires ownership, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent client service. You are responsible for ensuring the client experience is organized, responsive, and professional at every step.
Client Relationship Management You will:
Serve as a relationship manager for an existing book of business Conduct review and strategy meetings with a focus on both service and opportunity Identify gaps in planning, assets, or coverage and address them proactively Build trust that leads to long-term retention and expanded relationships Clients stay because they feel understood and supported. They grow with us because they see value. Growth & Relationship Development You will: Identify opportunities for additional assets, accounts or services within existing client relationships Encourage and generate referrals through consistent value deliver and trust-building Partner with the Lead Advisor to convert opportunities into actionable next steps Contribute to the organic growth of the firm through relationship expansion This is not cold prospecting. This is growth through trust and execution. Meeting Execution & Opportunity Development You will: Prepare for client meetings with both service and growth in mind Ensure meetings include clear recommendations and next steps Surface opportunities for additional planning, assets or solutions Follow through on all action items that move the relationship forward Every meeting should do one of two things: Strengthen the relationship Advance the relationship Ideally both.
Operational Execution You will:
Maintain accurate CRM documentation and notes Assist with internal reporting and data management Ensure consistent follow-through on client requests Support the overall client experience within the office Consistency builds trust. Trust builds long-term relationships. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Series 65 or Series 7/66 licenses 1+ years of experience in financial services Experience with investment management and insurance solutions Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines A proactive mindset and strong follow-through Preferred Qualifications CFP® designation Life & Health licenses Experience with a CRM system Experience with the Envestnet platform Who You Are You are someone who: Takes ownership of the client experiences highly organized and detail-oriented Is driven by outcomes not activities Builds trust easily with clients Communicates clearly and professionally Follows through on commitments without reminders Thrives in a team environment Is motivated by helping clients succeed Has a growth mindset (personal and professional) You understand that great financial advice requires more than technical knowledge. Who This Is Not For This role is not for someone who: Avoids accountability or follow-through Struggles with organization or time management Prefers working independently without collaboration Is uncomfortable working directly with clients Is looking for a purely sales-driven advisory role We are looking for professionals who take pride in serving clients and supporting the long-term growth of the firm.
Position Details Commitment:
Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week (8am-5pm), with occasional flexibility due to client meetings or events.

500 N. Hurstbourne Pkwy., Louisville, KY 40222
Compensation :
Starting salary range: $100,000-$125,000, depending on CFP® certification and experience.
