Coordinator, Financial Counseling What Financial Assistance Counseling (RCM) contributes to Cardinal Health Practice Operations Management oversees the business and administrative operations of a medical practice. Financial assistance counselors guide patients through their healthcare financial obligations.Job Purpose :
The Financial Counseling role is dedicated to the follow through of guidelines for financial counseling, financial assistance, and collection practices for all medically necessary services while ensuring access for all patients. Responsibilities Complete daily financial counseling workflow included but not limited to: Running Daily Schedules for consults, new/added procedures Verify benefits and provide cost estimates Collect on all time-of-service payments for patient responsibility Applying for financial assistance Applying for Medicaid/Medi-Cal Coordinate with Early out collections partner for payment plan and payment financing options Responsible for monitoring and collecting on all outstanding patient balances owed. Complete Applications for assistance and patient assistance programs based on clinic need. Apply and track all financial assistance applications in assist point. Ensure maximized assistance is gained for all patients based on coverage needs. Coordinate educational calls with all patients to ensure financial literacy of their insurance and payment options available according to their individual needs and eligibility. Conduct campaigns for patient education specific to open enrollment opportunities Initiate and track all charity care applications according to Navista policy Work closely with other Onsite Financial Counselors, Patient Navigators, front office staff and clinical staff to ensure smooth collection process. Maintain monthly Key performance indicators established both individually and in team setting. Regular attendance and punctualityQualifications:
Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred Minimum of 1-year Financial Counseling and/or budget/credit analysis and counseling experience preferred 2 years' experience in medical office setting working with medical insurance, coding and financial matters preferred Ability to work a flexible schedule and provide coverage for fellow employees as necessary. Working knowledge of medical terminology as well as ICD-10, HCPCs and CPT codes. Strong written/verbal communication, financial assessment, advocacy and crisis response skills, applied within established guidelines of the center. Strong competency of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel What is expected of you and others at this level: Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete standard tasks Works on routine assignments that require basic problem resolution Refers to policies and past practices for guidance Receives general directions on standard work; receives detailed instruction on new assignments Consults with supervisors or senior peers on complex and unusual problems Anticipated hourly range: $15.70- $24.75 Bonus eligible: No Application window anticipated to close: 6/20/2026 •if interested in opportunity, please submit application as soon as possible.Benefits:
