J.S. Perkins Consulting is seeking a Senior Consultant to provide Financial Reporting Support to the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences Financial and Manpower Management Directorate. This role is execution-focused and will support the day-to-day financial reporting workstream, including reconciliations, account analysis, supporting schedules, data calls, and quarterly reporting deliverables. The right candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, strong in Excel and financial analysis, and comfortable working in a disciplined federal environment with recurring deadlines and review cycles. This role will work closely with the Deloitte Financial Reporting Lead and broader USUHS support team to help deliver accurate, timely, and well-supported financial management outputs. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related fieldYour Responsibilities:
Support reconciliations of budgetary, proprietary, general ledger, and subsidiary ledger accounts Analyze accounts, maintain supporting schedules, and assist with preparation and validation of adjusting entries Support preparation of financial statements, footnotes, checklists, variance analyses, and related quarterly or annual reporting packages Assist with financial data calls, documentation requests, and follow-up items from client leadership and related stakeholders Maintain organized workpapers, source support, and reporting files in Government-accessible repositories Support PP&E-related reporting, depreciation schedules, inventories, or related financial records as needed Assist with strategic financial reporting, budget analysis, and related management reporting tasks as assigned Help identify process inefficiencies and support improvements that increase reporting quality, consistency, and timeliness Coordinate closely with the Financial Reporting Lead and other team members to keep deliverables moving and issues resolved Produce clean, review-ready work products and respond quickly to feedback in a deadline-driven environment Other duties as assignedSkillset Requirements:
5 or more years of experience in federal financial management, accounting, financial reporting, audit support, or a closely related field 3 or more years of experience supporting reconciliations, account analysis, financial statement support, journal entries, or related reporting activities Experience preparing or supporting workpapers, schedules, data calls, variance analyses, or other documentation used in financial reporting and review cycles Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and working knowledge of SharePoint and Google Workspace tools Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation management skills with close attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively in an onsite client environment and collaborate with senior team members and Government stakeholders Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust background investigation, CAC access, and any onboarding requirements necessary for performance atUSUHS Preferred Requirements:
CPA, CPA
