Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) Associate / Senior Associate Baltimore, MD | STOC Advisory About STOC Advisory STOC Advisory is a business advisory firm focused on transaction advisory services, corporate development, and finance and data intelligence. We work with middle market businesses and private equity sponsors to support acquisitions, growth, and exit planning. Our Transaction Advisory Services team provides buy-side and sell-side diligence with a focus on clear financial analysis and practical insights. Engagements typically run from initial deal screening through close, with additional involvement in post-transaction support. Teams are lean and partner-led, with associates actively involved in analysis, deliverables, and client interaction. Role Overview We are hiring a TAS Associate in our Baltimore office to support transaction execution across multiple engagements. You will work on live deals alongside senior team members, contributing to financial analysis, diligence workflows, and client deliverables. The role involves both detailed data work and the ability to summarize findings in a clear and structured way. Key Responsibilities Financial Analysis Build and review Quality of Earnings analyses, including EBITDA adjustments and identification of non-recurring items Analyze revenue trends, margins, and cost structure to assess earnings quality Support Net Working Capital analysis, including peg calculation and balance sheet review Perform cash-to-accrual adjustments and assess accounting practices Transaction Execution Support buy-side and sell-side diligence engagements from LOI through close Assist with data requests, management Q&A, and diligence tracking Contribute to deliverables prepared for private equity clients, lenders, and advisors Support analysis related to deal structuring and purchase price considerations Data and Insight Development Work with large datasets to identify trends, inconsistencies, and key drivers Build structured outputs in Excel that can be used across engagements Contribute to internal sector analysis and repeatable diligence frameworks Client Support Assist in preparing materials used in client discussions Help translate analysis into clear written summaries Participate in internal and external calls as part of deal teams What Makes This Role Different Direct exposure to transaction work with senior team members involved throughout each engagement Involvement across the full deal lifecycle, not limited to one phase Lean team structure with meaningful responsibility early on Work product designed for private equity and lender review Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 1 to 3 years of experience in transaction advisory, audit, investment banking, or a similar role Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and schedule preparation Ability to work on multiple projects and manage deadlines Preferred Experience with financial due diligence or Quality of Earnings engagements Exposure to private equity or deal environments Familiarity with revenue recognition, working capital mechanics, and purchase price adjustments Technology and Tools Advanced Excel skills required Experience using AI tools to support research, data analysis, workflow efficiency, or diligence review Familiarity with Endex or similar AI-enabled finance tools preferred Comfort working with large datasets and third-party data exports Industries Our work spans a range of sectors, including healthcare services, business services, consumer, industrials, and technology-enabled businesses.
