Detroit, MI Job Details Full-time 11 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, payroll coordination, and financial reporting. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and operational reports. Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, municipal finance policies, and audit requirements. Support budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, and fiscal analysis activities. Advise leadership on financial risks, operational efficiencies, funding utilization, and budget impacts. Coordinate internal and external audits and implement corrective actions where necessary. Develop and maintain financial procedures and internal controls to safeguard public resources. Support grant reporting, capital project tracking, and procurement-related financial oversight. Provide analytical support for labor, staffing, operational, and strategic initiatives. Assist with ERP system management, financial reporting enhancements, and process improvement efforts.
JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA preferred. Minimum of 5 years of accounting, financial analysis, or governmental finance experience. Knowledge of governmental accounting practices, budget administration, and municipal reporting standards. Strong proficiency in financial systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
