Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted advisor for new clients acquired through proactive measures to seek, identify, and establish prospects Create customized financial plans for each client based on his or her life stage, professional circumstances, and fluctuating financial needs Support clients' progress toward their financial goals through strategic product, plan, and investment recommendations Embrace the role of a structured yet coachable team player open to continued education and training from other team members Gather and assess each client's financial information to accurately determine factors including financial status, cash flow, monetary expectations, financial goals, retirement plans, and additional factors related to wealth management Maintain databases, records, and bookkeeping, ensuring all paperwork is up to date Onboard incoming and retain existing clients via a variety of customer service tasks, such as appointment booking and responding to inquiries regarding billing, coverage, eligibility, and insurance policies Evaluate new customers' insurance needs, insurance risk, existing coverage, long-term goals, and financial status through consultations to create a tailored experience that exceeds expectations Process current policyholders' insurance claims while monitoring the status of existing insurance claims Grow new business by generating a prospective customer base and advertising our insurance products via networking, asking for referrals, cold calling, and other marketing strategies
Qualifications:
Basic understanding of the role of a financial advisor or financial consultant, as well interest in the financial industry and financial products is necessary Requires a Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or other related field Basic knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office, financial planning software, Google Suite, CRM systems, and related programs is needed Valid FINRA Series 7 & 63/66 preferred but not required Superior communication, relationship building, and math skills to establish a strong foundation of customer service for all clients Possesses outstanding interpersonal and communication skills Prior health insurance or life insurance experience a bonus Must have graduated from high school or received a GED; a Bachelor's degree is desired Previous customer service or experience as a sales representative preferred Current Life & Health insurance license is greatly valued About Company As a mutual company, with no investors or outside owners, New York Life is uniquely aligned with clients' interests and priorities.
