Position Summary The Financial Planning Associate supports the Director of Financial Planning in the creation, management, and ongoing evolution of financial plans for the firm's clients. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytically driven professional who is committed to a career in finance and excited to develop deep expertise in financial planning. The Associate Financial Planner will collaborate closely with advisors and firm leadership, contributing meaningfully to client outcomes and firm-wide planning standards. Key Responsibilities Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of all financial plans — both creation and updates — using Northwestern Mutual planning software. Leverage planning knowledge and expertise in collaboration with advisors and leadership on complex and sophisticated client situations. Execute and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Adams, Gut & Associates Financial Planning Philosophy. Follow and help establish best practices for firm deliverables and client presentation standards. Stay current on key technology changes and broader planning landscape developments to support operational efficiency and compliance. Oversee and review planning recommendations for accuracy, thoroughness, and relevance to each client's unique situation. Develop proficiency in insurance products and learn to design and produce insurance illustrations tailored to client plans.

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field Demonstrated commitment to a long-term career in financial services Strong numerical aptitude and comfort working with financial data Active licenses or willingness to obtain: Life & Health, SIE, and pursuit of CFP designation
Preferred:
Prior experience in financial planning, wealth management, or an adjacent financial services role Familiarity with Northwestern Mutual planning tools or similar platforms CFP designation or active enrollment in a CFP program
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
$45,000 - $50,000, commensurate with experience
Bonus Eligibility:
Bonus increases annually and includes additional incentives for earning professional designations (SIE, CFP, Life & Health, etc.)
