We believe accounting and tax professionals should do more than prepare returns — they should become an extension of the client's team and a resource clients rely on throughout the year. As we continue to grow, we are expanding our team in our new Carmel, Indiana office, a collaborative space designed to support connection, flexibility, and growth. We are looking for an experienced CPA or CPA candidate who enjoys working directly with clients, solving complex problems, and helping people succeed both personally and professionally. Position Summary The Advisor role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who wants to move beyond transactional work and build meaningful client relationships. In this role, you will work directly with clients to provide tax, accounting, and advisory support that helps them operate and grow more effectively. You will collaborate closely with Managing Advisors and Senior Advisors while continuing to grow technically, professionally, and personally within a supportive team environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, communicates clearly, enjoys problem-solving, and values building long-term relationships through a team approach.

What You'll Do:

As an Advisor at EMA, you will work closely with clients to provide tax, accounting, and strategic advisory support that helps them operate and grow more effectively.

Responsibilities include:

• Work closely with Managing Advisors and Senior Advisors on client relationships and projects
• Prepare and review individual and business income tax returns
• Assist clients with accounting, tax planning, and advisory needs
• Analyze financial and tax information and provide practical recommendations
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication
• Support business owners with financial, operational, and strategic questions
• Collaborate with team members on client deliverables

• 3 - 5 years of public accounting, advisory, or related experience
• CPA preferred or actively pursuing certification
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
• Experience working with business and individual clients preferred
• Experience with CCH Axcess Tax, Engagement, and QuickBooks Online preferred, but not required
