About the role As an Investment Business Analyst - Consulting Manager , you will make an impact by delivering strategic and data-driven insights across the investment and asset management lifecycle. You will be a valued member of the Capital Markets Consulting team, working closely with client stakeholders, portfolio managers, and cross-functional delivery teams to design and implement high-impact solutions. In this role, you will: Lead business analysis efforts across asset management and investment projects, from requirements gathering to solution design Translate complex investment concepts (portfolio management, asset allocation, risk-adjusted returns) into actionable business and technology requirements Analyze financial data and develop models to support investment strategies and decision-making Design and optimize processes, including workflow mapping and lifecycle improvements across investment operations Partner with clients and internal teams to deliver consulting engagements, leveraging data platforms and tools to drive insights and reporting Work model We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3-4 days a week in a client office in Newark, New Jersey . What you must have to be considered Strong experience in capital markets , ideally across multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives) Hands-on experience across the investment / asset management lifecycle Solid understanding of portfolio management concepts, asset allocation, and risk-adjusted returns Proven experience in requirements gathering, business analysis, and documentation Experience with investment valuation techniques Proficiency in financial modeling (Excel required; Python preferred) Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (SQL, Power BI, Tableau) Familiarity with financial data platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) - completed or in progress These will help you succeed Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills Experience in consulting or client-facing delivery environments Ability to translate business needs into scalable data and technology solutions Experience in process optimization and workflow design within financial services Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders Compensation & Benefits The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $125,000 , depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program , based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
