As with all positions among the Financial Aid Office, assisting students and their parents, presenting about financial aid, and representing the office or College at internal and external events are also important components of this position.
Job Duties:
Answers complex inquires and provides advanced counsel to support navigation of student financial and administrative services and improve student recruitment, retention, and graduation. Provides counseling and assistance to students regarding various types of educational funding, and by acting as a liaison for students with other internal offices including the Information Commons, Advising, Business Office, Registrar's Office, Admissions, and Bookstore. Assistance may be in person, virtually, via email, or text. Assist with FAFSA workshops. May be called upon for presentations that may include some weekend and evening events. Complete regular quality assurance measures for accurate awarding and disbursement of federal financial aid, including reviewing daily reports to aid in keeping the Federal Pell Grant reconciled Assist with processing of various Kentucky grants and scholarships Work with other institutions to complete consortium agreements for students in pathway programs and visiting students. Assists Director of Financial Aid in working with the Registrar's Office and Advisors in resolving Program Applicability issues. Resolve Transfer Monitoring Alerts for transfer students and those concurrently enrolled at another school Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2-4 years of relevant experience Direct experience in financial aid operations in a higher education setting. In order to perform all job responsibilities, applicants may not be in default on a federal student loan Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments. Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word)
