Job Description

Senior Assurance Associate
TITLE:
Senior Assurance Associate
DUTIES:
Prepare engagement letters, prepare PBC lists and related documents (IT questionnaire, walkthroughs, confirmations, etc.), communicate with clients regarding planning meeting setup, establish timing, assist in developing a detailed engagement plan that mitigates risk, and work with manager/director to execute or revise the plan as clients deliver. Review initial PBC items to ensure the client has delivered all items. Delegate work to the US and Chennai associates; effectively communicate work/pertinent details to Chennai team members as to work they will complete, timing, etc.; assist US and Chennai team members with questions and issues. Manage multiple jobs/clients and update manager/director on status. Communicate status and any issues to manager/director timely to ensure delays do not occur in client delivery; effectively and efficiently communicate open items to clients and help resolve issues/questions. Detail review audit work; clear comments from manager/director and assist with clearing comments from partner/QC review. Assist in the finalization process (ensuring all comments are cleared, all open items are addressed, sending and obtaining rep letters and subsequent events, routing to DPS, sending finals, preparing files for lockdown). Assist with evaluations (snapshot, busy season expectations, annual evals); train new staff/intern during busy season; provide real time feedback to staff during client engagement; act as a mentor to new associates and/or interns; help build/maintain successful team environment. Role is hybrid within reasonable commuting distance of the Bethesda, MD office.
SALARY:
$128,149-$131,000 per year

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Management Science and Technology or related field of study and three (3) years of experience as a Consultant, Assurance Associate or related role w required experience gained. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in stated fields and three (3) years of stated experience, employer will accept a Master's degree in Accounting, Management Science and Technology or related field of study and one (1) year of experience as a Consultant, Assurance Associate or related role w required experience gained.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Also requires experience in the following: One (1) year of experience in a public accounting firm; CPA licensure achieved or eligibility to sit for exam; Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite; and Knowledge of audit software such as CaseWare or ProSystem FX.
