That's why we're looking for a Senior Pricing Analyst to lead complex pricing initiatives, deliver strategic financial insights, and help shape pricing strategies that drive profitability, competitive positioning, and exceptional client service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
  • Leading the development of strategic pricing proposals, budgets, and alternative fee arrangements for client pitches, RFPs, and complex matters.
  • Building sophisticated pricing models and profitability analyses to evaluate staffing leverage, realization, fee structures, and revenue opportunities.
  • Advising attorneys and firm leadership on pricing strategies, assumptions, risks, approval requirements, and alternative fee structures.
  • Conducting competitive market benchmarking and rate analyses to support pricing strategy, proposal positioning, and rate-setting decisions.
  • Developing reporting and analytical insights that identify trends, profitability drivers, risks, and opportunities across clients, matters, and practices.
  • Serving as a subject matter resource on pricing policies, governance, approval processes, and pricing best practices.
  • Delivering training, educational materials, and strategic guidance that strengthen pricing discipline and profitability awareness throughout the firm.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, budgeting, proposal modeling, or profitability management, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Expert-level Excel and financial modeling skills, including advanced functions, large data analysis, and complex scenario modeling.
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business recommendations for attorneys and leadership.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with experience influencing stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple complex projects while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Experience with pricing, budgeting, business intelligence, benchmarking, and reporting tools; legal industry pricing experience strongly preferred.
Pay Range for Candidates in Washington, DC $105,000 - $130,000 per year The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
