POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the analysis of current customer, lane, and market activity and pricing to improve operating results. Directs bid pricing and coordination with sales and operations. Analyzes rate, lane and yield reports and makes recommendations for improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Uses software tools to analyze customer base and rates for areas of improvement.
Makes recommendations for:
Lane Pricing Improvement Customer Pricing Improvement (Increases and Reductions) Accessorial Pricing Improvement Responsible for pricing and response to all bids by working closely with appropriate sales / operations personnel. Makes any necessary changes to enhance bid process. Track results of all applicable bids and pricing requests. Analyzes customers / lanes upon requests from the Director of Operations Attends sales / operations meetings as necessary to review results of analytical process and bid/pricing results. Assist in qualifying potential customers as necessary. Type and fax/email rate quotations for Operations and Sales. Maintain clear and concise pricing files. Other duties as may be assigned. Analysis of current and future business and lanes Customer relations and communication Process Improvement New business development Track Bid/Pricing Results Accuracy of data entry in rates, documents, contracts, spreadsheets, and other related items. Development of new business Timeliness of responses to pricing requests/meeting deadlines Prioritization of all work to ensure most important processes are handled expeditiously. College degree preferred Minimum of 2 years related experience within a logistics or truckload environment Strong analytical skills Strong computer/PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to develop and communicate original ideas, processes, or programs Must be trustworthy and have ability to maintain corporate confidences Must be self motivated Ability to pass pre-employment drug test Excellent work history with proven track record Professional, clean, neat appearance No convictions of serious crimes Limited travel as needed SKILLS Excellent oral, written and listening skills. Ability to read and comprehend general instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals. Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to effectively present information and speak before front line employees, subordinates, top management, customers, carriers, or other members of business community.
