- Full-time Position Summary Steel & O'Brien Manufacturing is a leading manufacturer of stainless steel flow control components serving diverse industrial markets.
The Commercial Operations Manager will execute commercial strategy across key industrial markets by partnering with sales & pricing leadership to accelerate growth through refined pricing execution and sales operations. This role will deploy advanced analytics to strengthen performance across a complex product portfolio to expand market share. Acting as a link between Sales, Finance, and Operations, this role will ensure inventory and service delivery align with strategy, and will drive continuous improvement in processes, reporting, and data-driven decision-making. Primary Responsibilities Sales Analytics & Share of Wallet Expansion Analyze customer purchasing data across sanitary fittings, valves, pumps, and custom solutions to identify share-of-wallet gaps and cross-sell opportunities Develop account-level insights and partner with Sales to expand product penetration Evaluate sales trends, pipeline data, win/loss results, and pricing dynamics to improve performance Maintain dashboards and KPIs for revenue, margin, pricing trends, and forecast accuracy Support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning Deliver insights on revenue performance, growth opportunities, and profitability Price Maintenance & Profitability Management Manage pricing across products, customers, and markets Analyze profitability drivers, including pricing levels, cost structure, and mix Ensure pricing aligns with margin targets, competitive positioning, and value-based selling Conduct cost-to-serve and profitability analysis by product, customer, and channel Execute and ensure price updates, including calculations, file creation, and ERP uploads Partner with Sales on non-standard pricing approvals aligned with financial objectives Support pricing and discount policy development and enforcement Market & Competitive Intelligence Monitor market pricing, competitor positioning, and industry benchmarks Conduct scenario modeling for cost, pricing, and demand changes Cross-Functional Leadership Serve as the link between Sales, Finance, and Operations, including SIOP participation Align commercial strategy with inventory and production capabilities Drive improvements in processes, tools, and data visibility Other duties as assigned Primary Competencies Commercial and financial acumen Data-driven decision-making Cross-functional influence Process discipline and execution Customer-focused mindset within a high-service model Qualifications Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field with MBA preferred 5-10+ years of experience in sales operations within manufacturing environments Experience in RFQ-driven, high-mix environments preferred Strong analytical skills across large SKU portfolios Ability to collaborate with technical teams (engineering, manufacturing) Experience with CRM/ERP systems and analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce, Power BI, Excel) Culture Support and participate in company functions. Salary Range:
$120k
- 130k, depending on location and qualifications; plus 10% annual bonus.
