This role partners closely with sourcing, product development, design, and merchandising teams to gather cost inputs, build product cost models, and ensure new products align with company margin targets. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and bringing structure to fast-moving projects. Key Responsibilities Product Costing & Analysis Build and maintain cost models for new product development, including: Factory (FOB) costs Packaging Freight and duties Calculate gross margin and assess alignment with company margin targets Support financial evaluation of new product concepts and line extensions Data Collection & Cross-Functional Coordination Gather and validate cost inputs from multiple partners, including: U.S. sourcing team China merchandising teams Product development and design Track, organize, and document inputs to ensure accuracy and completeness Proactively follow up with stakeholders to keep costing on schedule Pricing & Scenario Analysis Assist with evaluating product viability across multiple retail price points Run basic scenario analyses (e.g., cost changes, pricing adjustments) Identify and highlight risks, assumptions, or gaps in costing data Tools, Templates & Process Support Maintain standardized costing templates and spreadsheets Improve consistency, structure, and organization of costing data Support initiatives to streamline costing processes and improve efficiency Margin Review & Leadership Support Support margin reviews for new products prior to approval Prepare clear summaries of cost assumptions and margin outcomes for internal review Escalate discrepancies, missing data, or margin concerns as needed Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field preferred Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered Required 1-3 years of experience in finance, pricing, costing, sourcing, or an analytical role Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Strong quantitative and analytical skills required Ability to manage multiple workstreams and follow up across teams Preferred Experience in consumer products, retail, or manufacturing Exposure to product costing or supply chain processes Working knowledge of basic financial concepts (cost structure, margin) Experience working with international teams (Asia preferred) Skills & Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Comfortable working with incomplete or evolving data Organized, persistent, and detail-oriented Clear communicator who collaborates effectively across teams Eager to learn and take on increasing responsibility over time Reporting & Team Collaboration Reports to: SVP, Operations & Product Management (initially) Works closely with the Sr. Manager, Sourcing & Supply Chain and broader cross‑functional teams Reporting alignment may evolve as the role and function mature What Success Looks Like Costing inputs are accurate, organized, and delivered on time Product cost models are clear, reliable, and repeatable Teams have improved visibility into product costs and margins All new products are consistently reviewed against margin expectations Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 , depending on experience Bonus eligibility based on performance and company results Health insurance and 401(k) plan Excellent growth potential within a respected leader in the Puzzles & Games industry
