The Senior Pricing Analyst leads pricing strategy development and execution for assigned business areas within Valvoline Global Operations, driving profitable growth through advanced analytics, market insights, and cross-functional collaboration. This role directly impacts revenue, margin, and competitive positioning.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role serves as a strategic partner to Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product teams. It manages complex pricing initiatives, influences stakeholders, and identifies opportunities to enhance pricing programs, tools, and processes—bridging data-driven insights with commercial execution to ensure alignment with enterprise objectives and market dynamics. How You'll Make an Impact Own pricing strategy, including price setting, adjustments, and governance
Lead pricing reviews and deliver data-driven recommendations
Guide execution through analysts and cross-functional partners
Conduct advanced analyses (elasticity, profitability, scenario modeling)
Integrate data sources to assess performance and identify trends and risks
Translate insights into actionable recommendations
Monitor market conditions, competitors, and customer trends
Recommend positioning adjustments to maintain advantage
Serve as a pricing insights resource
Advise Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product teams on pricing
Influence decisions through data and business acumen
Support customer programs, negotiations, and go-to-market efforts
Oversee rebates, discounts, and contract pricing structures
Ensure financial alignment, accrual accuracy, and compliance with Finance
Identify risks and drive improvements
Maintain pricing records and governance
Evaluate financial impact of new initiatives and support strategic decisions
Improve pricing processes, tools, and data quality
Drive standardization and scalable methodologies
Advance pricing best practices across the organization
Lead complex cross-functional projects
Drive operational efficiencies
Mentor junior analysts
Develop and present to senior leadership What You'll Need BS in Finance, Accounting, Management, or related field preferred
5-8+ years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or commercial analytics
Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex analytical work and business initiatives Strong financial and business acumen, with clear understanding of pricing impacts on P&L performance
Advanced Excel skills required; experience with SQL, SAP, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) strongly preferred
Experience working with SalesForce, CPQ, PriceFX or other pricing software is strongly preferred
Experience with large datasets and data visualization techniques
Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment
Strong communication skills with experience presenting to senior business leaders
Experience managing or supporting pricing programs (rebates, discounts, contracts) preferred
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment Working Conditions / Physical Requirements / Travel Requirements Hybrid work environment; role based in the United States (Lexington, KY preferred)
Primarily office-based with the ability to sit or remain stationary for approximately 70-80% of the time
Frequent use of computers, data systems, and standard office equipment
Collaboration across multiple functions and time zones as needed
