Job Description
Automatic Distributors is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as a Pricing & Profitability Analyst . This position will work closely with our Purchasing, Sales, and Management teams to analyze product pricing, profitability, and margin performance across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, business awareness, and the ability to work with large amounts of data to help drive pricing strategies and improve overall profitability. This role plays an important part in ensuring that vendor costs, customer pricing, and market competitiveness align with company profit goals. We are a national distribution company with operations and distribution facilities located in Bangor, Maine; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Reno, Nevada , supporting customers and team members across the country. Responsibilities Analyze product costs, sales pricing, and profit margins across product lines and customer segments Review purchasing and sales data to identify pricing trends and profitability opportunities Work with Purchasing teams to monitor vendor cost changes and margin impacts Collaborate with Sales teams to support pricing decisions and customer profitability analysis Develop recommendations to improve gross profit and overall pricing strategies Maintain pricing reports, spreadsheets, and analytical tools Monitor competitive pricing and market conditions when applicable Assist with identifying pricing inconsistencies, errors, and opportunities for improvement Support management with reporting, forecasting, and profitability analysis Qualifications Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools Ability to interpret and analyze large sets of purchasing and sales data Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments Background or education in Business, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred Experience in distribution, wholesale operations, inventory management, or pricing analysis is a plus Experience with ERP systems and reporting systems is beneficial Experience with
IBM AS/400 ERP
