Job DescriptionJob Description Position Summary This is a high-impact, hands-on role at the intersection of product, sales, and operations. The Product & Pricing Strategist will lead efforts to optimize our catalog, pricing approach, and product architecture to ensure our offering is margin-optimized, scalable, and aligned with both customer needs and operational efficiency. You will work closely with sales and customers at the start of a project to help guide product selection and configurations that reduce SKU complexity, make use of our buying power, and improve profitability. This role is critical to the success of our on-demand manufacturing model and offers the opportunity to shape decisions that drive real business outcomes. The right person will thrive in spreadsheets, large data sets, understand the nuances of materials and product builds, and enjoy being part of a collaborative team working toward smarter, leaner, and more profitable operations. Key Responsibilities Own and maintain financial oversight of the product catalog by analyzing SKU-level profitability, identifying redundancy, and recommending rationalization to optimize inventory investment and working capital Partner with Sales to support deal structuring and customer guidance that aligns with margin targets, pricing discipline, and revenue quality objectives Develop, maintain, and enhance pricing models, quoting tools, and financial templates to improve accuracy, consistency, and turnaround time Monitor and analyze cost drivers including raw materials, labor, overhead allocations, and supplier pricing to ensure financial data remains current and decision-ready Proactively identify margin improvement opportunities through cost optimization, pricing adjustments, and mix management across product lines Support product development initiatives by evaluating cost, margin, and ROI implications of material, format, and design decisions Leverage financial and operational data to assess product performance, recommend SKU sunsets, and guide portfolio investment toward higher-return opportunities Build and maintain detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), including component-level cost analysis, supplier inputs, and margin considerations, to inform pricing strategies and improve product profitability. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in pricing, cost analysis, or finance roles, preferably within furniture, garment, art, or consumer product manufacturing. Experience in on-demand or made-to-order manufacturing is a major plus. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple pricing configurations and deadlines simultaneously. Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills required; strong comfort with data modeling and pricing analysis. ERP experience is a plus. Demonstrated experience in margin management, cost analysis, and product pricing strategy, especially in high-SKU or custom environments. Solid understanding of margin drivers, quoting workflows, and product strategy within a manufacturing or operations context. Proactive and self-directed, with a track record of bringing clarity and structure to complex or ambiguous challenges. Comfortable working cross-functionally and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders including sales, operations, and leadership. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred. Preferred Experience Prior experience working in design-forward or artistic product companies (e.g. custom furniture or decor). Familiarity with product lifecycle pricing, freight impact on margin, and vendor cost negotiations. Understanding of the relationship between design decisions and margin performance. Spanish is a plus
