Role Purpose The Pricing Supervisor is responsible for leading Gateway Logistics Group's international pricing function, ensuring accurate, timely, and commercially sound pricing decisions that support revenue growth, margin performance, and customer retention. This role provides direct supervision to the international pricing team and serves as the primary escalation point for complex, high-value, or high-risk quotations. The Pricing Supervisor establishes pricing governance, enforces margin discipline, and ensures pricing decisions align with Gateway's commercial strategy, operational capabilities, and compliance requirements. Primary Accountabilities Pricing Leadership & Supervision Supervise, coach, and develop International Pricing Analysts. Assign workloads, accounts, trade lanes, and priorities across the pricing team. Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), quality standards, and communication expectations. Provide guidance and approval for complex or escalated quotations. Identify training needs and support ongoing development of pricing staff. Quotation Oversight & Commercial Strategy Oversee the end-to-end international quoting process for air, ocean (FCL/LCL), and multimodal services. Review pricing assumptions, routing, carrier selection, and service scope prior to approval. Support strategic bids, RFQs, and tender responses in coordination with Sales leadership. Ensure pricing supports Gateway's margin targets, service commitments, and customer strategy. Pricing Governance & Risk Management Enforce pricing policies, margin thresholds, and approval matrices. Act as the primary escalation authority for quotes exceeding USD 30,000, pricing below margin targets, non-standard terms, elevated risk shipments, or policy exceptions. Ensure consistent application of new customer pricing strategies and onboarding protocols. Balance market competitiveness with financial discipline and risk mitigation. Client credit and payment terms validation Client Targeting, Win Strategy & Quote Discipline Partner with Sales leadership to identify and prioritize high-probability opportunities. Lead pricing strategy development for targeted opportunities to improve win probability. Support proactive opportunity planning for key accounts, RFQs, and strategic prospects. Identify customers using Gateway primarily as a benchmarking tool. Analyze quote-to-win trends to detect low-probability or non-productive quoting activity. Collaborate with Sales leadership to adjust or discontinue quoting for non-strategic opportunities. Incorporate disciplined quoting practices to improve efficiency and quote-to-win performance. Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as the primary pricing liaison to Sales and Operations leadership. Partner with Operations to validate service feasibility, capacity, and cost structures. Collaborate with Accounting on margin validation, pricing audits, and profitability reviews. Escalate systemic pricing or service issues with recommended corrective actions. Quality, Accuracy & Compliance Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all international quotations. Reduce re-quotes, pricing errors, and margin erosion. Maintain documentation of rate sources, approvals, and pricing assumptions. Ensure compliance with Incoterms, trade regulations, and internal pricing policies. Performance Management & Reporting Monitor pricing KPIs, trends, and performance metrics. Conduct win/loss analysis and margin variance reviews. Report pricing performance, risks, and opportunities to management. Recommend corrective actions and process improvements. Market Intelligence & Continuous Improvement Monitor carrier rate movements, trade lane trends, and market conditions. Identify pricing risks and commercial opportunities. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Pricing SLA adherence Quote accuracy and re-quote rate Margin performance versus target Quote-to-win ratio by customer and trade lane Reduction in benchmark-only quoting activity Team productivity and development progress Compliance and audit readiness Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in international freight forwarding, pricing, or logistics operations Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred Strong knowledge of air, ocean (FCL/LCL), and multimodal pricing structures Advanced understanding of Incoterms and trade compliance Strong analytical, commercial, and risk assessment skills Advanced proficiency in Excel and pricing/forwarding systems Excellent communication and organizational skills
