Senior Associate•
Registered Architect OR Professional Engineer Locations:
Atlanta, GA A leading national architecture, engineering, and construction consulting firm is seeking a Senior Associate•Registered Architect OR Professional Engineer to join its growing Southeast project team. This organization partners with real estate owners, investors, and lenders across the full property lifecycle, helping them evaluate assets, solve complex challenges, and deliver tailored, high-impact solutions. The Opportunity This role offers the chance to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial building types, including office, retail, industrial, hospitality, and multifamily assets, with particular emphasis on industrial and large-scale commercial structures. As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in assessing project scope, technical accuracy, potential risks, and client requirements, while providing expert insight into building condition and performance. Key Responsibilities Conduct and document detailed property inspections to assess building condition and system performance Evaluate structural systems, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, façades, and site elements Analyse maintenance records, fire reports, and occupancy documentation Review project materials, including drawings, specifications, contracts, and budgets Prepare comprehensive client reports (e.g., Property Condition Reports), outlining findings, repair priorities, and capital planning recommendations Capture photographic documentation of building systems, deficiencies, and deferred maintenance Develop and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business growth initiatives Travel locally and across the Southeast region (approx. 30-50% ) Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering Registered Architect (RA), NCARB certification, or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure Minimum 15 years' experience within an architecture or consulting environment Strong technical understanding of commercial building systems and construction practices At least 5 years' experience in building assessments, inspections, or related forensic investigations, including areas such as: Property and Facility Condition Assessments (ASTM E2018) Reserve studies and capital planning Building enclosure and roofing evaluations Accessibility compliance (ADA/FHA) Due diligence for real estate investors or lenders Knowledge of construction contracts, building materials, and regional/state codes Familiarity with accessibility standards (ADA/FFHA) preferred Experience with construction administration is advantageous Skills & Attributes Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear client insights Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Leadership qualities, including mentoring junior staff and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams High level of organisation and attention to detail Technical Proficiency Revit and AutoCAD Bluebeam and Box Working knowledge of PlanGrid (preferred) Physical Requirements This role involves both office and site-based work.
Candidates must be able to:
