Job Description

Clay County Missouri has an opening at our annex in Kansas City, MO for a Personal Property Technician. The Personal Property Technician, following Missouri state statutes and established appraisal techniques, will converse with taxpayers in person or by telephone to create/edit/change/delete existing records, apply tax entity codes, examine and verify taxpayers forms and related documents, and apply penalties. We are looking for someone proficient in MS Office applications, flexibility to adjust to procedural changes as they occur, mathematically inclined, and can communicate clearly and concisely. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including basic Excel report formatting, and legally licensed and insured to drive a motor vehicle. The hiring salary is $20.30 hourly with an employee benefits package that includes two defined benefit retirement pension plans fully funded by the County, choice of three medical plans including two high deductible plans with County funded HSA. The option to include dental, vision, flexible spending, and supplemental plans. Full-time employees are also offered life insurance (2X annual salary) paid by the County, paid vacation/sick leave, 14 ½ paid holidays, Long Term Disability, and tuition reimbursement.
