Job Description

Part-Time Field Repair Assessor About Swift-Fix Repair Services Swift-Fix Repair Services is a Philadelphia-based handyman and repair company that provides maintenance, repair, and small project services for property managers, commercial clients, homeowners, and facilities teams. We handle a wide range of repair work, from basic maintenance items to larger multi-day projects. We are looking for a part-time Field Repair Assessor to help us visit job sites, document repair needs, and provide clear information to our office and project management team. Position Overview The Field Repair Assessor will travel to different job sites to review maintenance and repair requests. This person will take detailed photos, estimate labor hours, write clear notes, capture basic measurements, and enter information into Jobber so our team can accurately quote, schedule, and complete the work. This is not a full project manager role. Swift-Fix already has a full-time Project Manager who handles larger, more complicated, or technical projects. The Field Repair Assessor's main responsibility is to collect accurate field information and identify when something needs to be escalated. This role is ideal for someone with handyman, maintenance, property management, or light construction experience who is organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently in the field. Responsibilities Visit residential, commercial, and property management job sites Assess requested maintenance and repair items Take clear photos and videos of the issue, surrounding area, access points, and any related damage Write detailed notes in Jobber Capture basic measurements when needed Identify the general repair type and possible materials needed Note access issues, parking/loading details, tenant availability, safety concerns, or other jobsite conditions Communicate findings clearly to the office team and Project Manager Escalate complicated, technical, or larger scopes of work to the Project Manager Represent Swift-Fix professionally when interacting with clients, tenants, and property managers Common Types of Work Assessed Drywall repairs Painting and touch-ups Door, lock, and hardware issues Trim and carpentry repairs Caulking and sealing Flooring damage Basic plumbing observations Basic electrical observations Exterior maintenance issues Punch list items General handyman and property maintenance repairs Qualifications Experience in handyman work, maintenance, property management, construction, or a related field Ability to recognize common repair and maintenance issues Strong attention to detail Clear written and verbal communication skills Comfortable using a smartphone, tablet, and job management software Ability to take organized photos and notes Reliable, professional, and able to work independently Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Important Role Expectations The Field Repair Assessor is not expected to solve every issue or fully estimate every project. The goal is to gather accurate information so the Swift-Fix team can make informed decisions. Complicated, technical, or larger projects should be escalated to the Project Manager. This may include structural concerns, roof leaks, complex plumbing or electrical issues, permit-related work, or larger multi-trade projects. Schedule This is a part-time position with seasonal hours based on job volume. During the busier spring and summer months, the schedule may range from approximately 20-40 hours per week. During the slower winter months, hours may be reduced depending on workload. The ideal candidate should have flexibility in their schedule and be comfortable with hours changing throughout the year based on company needs. Compensation Compensation will be hourly and based on experience. Swift-Fix provides mileage reimbursement for job-related travel. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who understands basic repairs, communicates clearly, and can document job sites thoroughly. This person does not need to be a full estimator or project manager, but should be able to gather the right information, identify obvious repair needs, and know when to escalate a more complicated issue.
