JOB PURPOSE
The primary focus is to assist loan offices and real estate appraisers with the residential and commercial appraisal ordering process from origination to completion of each appraisal assignment. This includes ordering and tracking appraisals and appraisal reviews, daily electronic filing and recordkeeping along with additional data entry assignments. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and Bank policies along with the Uniform Standard of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for appraisal bid management and engaging appraisers to perform residential and commercial appraisals. Interact with lenders and the Appraisal Manager regarding appraisal requests, acquiring relevant information to precisely define the scope of work for an appraisal assignment. 2. Obtain and track bids from qualified appraisers. 3. Prepare engagement letters and forward appropriate information to appraisers. 4. Monitor timely receipt of appraisals and appraisal reviews. 5. Ensure all appraisal requests are handled in a timely manner and any delays are properly documented and reported to the lender and/or Appraisal Manager. 6. Quality control review of appraisals prepared by third parties, as assigned. When necessary, discuss and resolve deficiencies with the Appraisal Manager. 7. Distribute appraisals and appraisal reviews to appropriate internal or external parties including lenders and third-party reviewers. 8. Originate and maintain digital appraisal files for each appraisal request and associated documentation in the appropriate directories. 9. Maintain written and verbal communication between appraisers and lenders, maintaining confidentiality as per bank policy. 10. Answer phone calls and emails in a timely manner. 11. Identify and communicate potential issues to facilitate an appropriate resolution. 12. In conjunction with the Appraisal Manager, recommend appraisers to be added to the approved appraisers list as necessary. 13. Request and maintain current appraiser E&O Insurance, credentials and qualifications corresponding with the governing authority's renewal schedule. 14. Ongoing data entry projects including maintaining the appraisal database, capturing key information from appraisals and Agreements of Sale. Datamine and analyze information as needed. 15. Serve as back-up to the Appraisal Manager in their absence. 16. Complete assigned compliance training in a timely manner and demonstrate the ability to apply training to duties and responsibilities. 17. Assume additional job-related duties as required.
REQUIRED TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
1. General knowledge of lending and the appraisal process. 2. Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. 3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral, to represent the Bank in a positive and professional manner. 4. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. 5. General knowledge of current industry regulations, rules and standards, and willingness to be trained on an ongoing basis. 6. Excellent time management skills; able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 7. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 8. Meticulous attention to detail. 9. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Preferred:
