Job Description

The Equalization Office Assistant performs a variety of secretarial and clerical work in assisting the public and our staff members. Responsibilities include answering phone calls and emails; greeting and assisting clients; aiding in the preparation of information for appraisers, maintaining and organizing appraiser schedules, and data entry. This is a part-time position.
Job Responsibilities:

Actual daily time spent in any activity fluctuates depending on assigned responsibilities and the particular position within the department. The position may also include other duties as assigned. Incidental or non-essential functions are not included.

Assist taxpayers, realtors, lenders, tax services, surveyors, title companies, attorneys, insurance companies, private appraisers, and others in obtaining information for property assessments and property details.

Answer phone calls from property owners and set up inspection appointments for appraisers.

Maintain online file system. Help the public navigate the public information portal.

Review and scan documents such as plats, annexations, building permits, tax exemption applications, etc.

Aid with any additional projects or duties as deemed by the Director of EqualizationMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED plus one year of general secretarial experience. Comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred QualificationsComputer literacy, property record literacy, and great customer service. Experience in a related field.
