In this vital role, you will coordinate and conduct Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) inspections, ensuring properties meet program standards and regulatory requirements. Your proactive approach will help facilitate smooth inspections, support landlords and tenants, and uphold fair housing practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to affordable housing initiatives while developing your skills in property management, social work, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Schedule and coordinate HCV inspections with landlords, tenants, and property managers to ensure timely assessments. Conduct thorough inspections of rental units, verifying compliance with Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and other relevant regulations. Document inspection findings accurately using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite. Communicate clearly with landlords and tenants regarding inspection results, necessary repairs, or compliance issues. Assist in resolving disputes or concerns related to property conditions through negotiation and crisis intervention techniques. Maintain detailed records of inspections, follow-up actions, and compliance status in accordance with program guidelines. Stay informed about updates to Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 policies, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and other relevant legal frameworks. Requirements Knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing vouchers, landlord-tenant law, and Fair Housing regulations. Experience with property management software such as Yardi or OneSite is highly preferred. Strong negotiation skills coupled with the ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis management strategies. Familiarity with social work principles, motivational interviewing, addiction counseling, and crisis intervention techniques. Ability to interpret property conditions critically while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor during inspections. Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple appointments and documentation accurately. Prior experience in property management or affordable housing programs is a plus.
