Job Description

This position is located in Division of Decommissioning, Uranium Recovery, and Waste Programs. This job opportunity announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies within the agency. The supervisor is Michelle Sutherland. This position IS subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements. This position IS subject to security ownership restriction reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
is defined as: experience that demonstrates a broad technical knowledge in applying the theories of performance assessment and/or probabilistic risk assessment to radioactive waste disposal, nuclear material risk management, and nuclear facility decommissioning. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: 1. Knowledge of principles, theories, and applied practices of risk analysis. Specific expertise and experience in applying the theories of performance assessment and/or probabilistic risk assessment to radioactive waste disposal, nuclear material risk management, and nuclear facility decommissioning. (
Example:
Describe work experience, education, and training which demonstrate your abilities, and your knowledge related to theory, principles and practices in the area of risk analysis. Specific expertise and experience in applying the theories of performance assessment and/or probabilistic risk assessment to radioactive waste disposal, nuclear material risk management, and nuclear facility decommissioning.) 2. Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers. (

Describe your experience working with a team of scientists or engineers in the review and oversight of project site, or provide examples of technical findings you prepared, and/or reached consensus opinions on, for a complex environmental, or other investigation or analyses.) 3. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, complex technical ideas, positions, recommendations and proposals before management, licensees, state and Federal agency officials, or clients depending on one's experience. (
