Job Description

Company Overview The McGregor Group (TMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) delivering professional services across complex federal programs. We specialize in program execution, regulatory support, and operational delivery where accountability matters. TMG is supporting the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office, which is responsible for compensating individuals and entities impacted by the wildfire in New Mexico. Position Summary TMG is seeking experienced Risk Reduction Specialists to support post-wildfire recovery and mitigation efforts. This role focuses on evaluating wildfire impacts, identifying ongoing risks, and recommending mitigation strategies to reduce future hazards. This position requires a combination of field assessment experience, technical knowledge, and the ability to apply federal program guidance in a dynamic recovery environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct post-wildfire risk and hazard assessments for affected properties and areas Develop and recommend mitigation and risk reduction strategies Evaluate wildfire-related impacts including erosion, flooding risk, and structural vulnerability Interpret and apply federal policies, regulations, and program guidance Support integration of mitigation considerations into claims and recovery processes Prepare technical documentation, reports, and recommendations Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including environmental, engineering, and claims personnel Communicate clearly with claimants and stakeholders regarding mitigation options Ensure compliance with applicable environmental and regulatory requirements Participate in field inspections and site visits as needed Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in environmental science, forestry, fire ecology, engineering, emergency management, or related field 5 to 10 years of experience in wildfire mitigation, hazard mitigation, environmental analysis, or disaster recovery Experience conducting damage assessments or mitigation planning Strong understanding of federal program environments Ability to interpret and apply policies, regulations, and guidance Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in both office and field settings Preferred Experience supporting FEMA disaster recovery or hazard mitigation programs Familiarity with wildfire mitigation practices such as defensible space and erosion control Knowledge of environmental compliance frameworks including NEPA Relevant certifications such as CEM or PMP Experience working on federal contracts or in a government support role
