Job Description

A leading Investment Bank in NYC is Looking to hire a Associate Director to their Market Risk Management team to oversee their Finance Leverage Loan Underwriting Business. This role will provide risk oversight for the loan underwriting portfolio. Including analysis of deals and transactions presented to the Loan Distribution Committee. The hire is responsible for delivering risk monitoring, control and market insights to help support senior management with business decisions and approvals. As well as performing in-depth data analysis to help develop and enhance risk infrastructure and daily risk management processes. This is a highly visible role with significant interaction across Trading, Investment Banking, and senior leadership, offering the opportunity to play a key role in shaping and strengthening the firm's market risk framework. Ideal candidates will have 4+ years of experience in Market Risk or related functions with strong exposure to leveraged finance, credit trading, or loan underwriting, and a solid understanding of risk frameworks and analytics.
Responsibilities:
Provide risk oversight of the Loan Underwriting portfolio, including monitoring and enhancing risk frameworks and controls. Review deals and transactions ahead of committee approvals. Deliver market insights and trends to senior risk leadership. Analyze complex data sets to identify risk patterns and support senior management decision-making. Partner closely with Investment Banking, Trading, and Credit Risk teams to ensure alignment on key risk exposures and issues.
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in Market Risk, Credit Risk, or a front-office risk function, including VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis, and risk frameworks. Experience covering leveraged finance, high yield, leveraged loans, along with a solid understanding of CLOs, TRS structures, and loan underwriting processes. Proven analytical skill-set and translating insights into strategic decision making. Technical proficiency in Python and/or Tableau. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple teams.
