Position Summary:
Tetra Tech Dam and Reservoir Team is looking for a Dam Safety Lead with over 25 years of experience supporting multi-disciplinary water supply and storage projects, particularly in dam design, geotechnical engineering, and instrumentation and monitoring, with responsibilities for the entire project delivery cycle - dam safety and risk assessments, field investigations, analyses, design engineering and construction engineering. The successful candidate will have an MS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, and experience as dam and levee safety risk advisor or technical lead on multiple water resource and dam projects in the U.S. and Canada, as well as other locations around the world. Expertise:
Certified Risk Assessment Facilitation Risk Informed Decision Making and Interim Risk Reduction Measures Water Supply and Storage Dam Design Hydropower Engineer of Record for engineering design and construction
Geotechnical Engineering Required Qualifications:
MS in Civil Engineering; Licensed Professional Engineer (PE); Proficiency in performing investigations, design and construction management for all types of dams for water supply, flood control, and hydroelectric facilities, including concrete gravity, earthfill, zoned earth-rockfill, faced rockfill, and arch dams, as well as upstream, centerline, and downstream method tailings dams; Experience planning and installing monitoring and instrumentation equipment; Experience with geotechnical projects including landslide investigation and repair and shallow and deep structure foundations; Experience performing dam safety inspections including the role of FERC Independent Consultant and chief inspector
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid or flexible work environment.
  • Manual dexterity to use a computer mouse, keyboard, and peripheral equipment.
  • The ability to sit at a workstation for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and via electronic means.

The hourly rate for this position is $290.00/hr.
