Full Job Description Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced VP of Risk and Compliance to join our dynamic team. This role is critical to supporting sustainable growth in a variety of merchant verticals and ensuring our continued alignment with all relevant regulatory and governance best practices as we continue to scale in new markets. Duties:
Lead merchant underwriting and credit risk evaluation to minimize financial exposure, fraud losses, and chargeback liability. Oversee fraud prevention and transaction monitoring programs, including identification of suspicious activity, transaction laundering, and high-risk merchant behavior. Ensure compliance with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, sponsor bank, and card network operating regulations. Manage AML, KYC, PCI
DSS, OFAC, and related regulatory compliance requirements across merchant portfolios. Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise risk management frameworks, policies, controls, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). Monitor merchant portfolios for compliance with card network thresholds, fraud programs, and chargeback monitoring requirements. Lead remediation efforts for compliance violations, audit findings, card brand inquiries, and regulatory examinations. Oversee ISO, PayFac, processor, and third-party partner risk management and compliance reviews. Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams including operations, underwriting, legal, compliance, and executive leadership. Maintain documentation, reporting, and governance processes related to acquiring risk and compliance activities. Stay current on evolving payment industry regulations, network rules, and emerging fraud trends. Preferred Skills 7-10+ years in payment processing, merchant acquiring, risk management, or compliance. Strong knowledge of card network rules, merchant underwriting, fraud monitoring, chargebacks, AML/KYC, PCI DSS, and PayFac/ISO models. Experience managing teams and working across cross-functional environments. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and regulatory interpretation skills. Experience supporting audits, sponsor bank reviews, or card network compliance programs.
