Risk Management Program Manager State of Idaho - 3.6 Boise, ID Job Details Full-time $40 - $43 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Parental leave Vision insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Statistics Program management Team leadership Process improvement General management Full Job Description State of Idaho - Department of Administration Opportunity The Department of Administration, Risk Management Program currently has an opening for a Risk Management Program Manager in Boise. This position leads a professional team responsible for investigating adjudicating liability, property, and physical damage claims and determining liability; negotiating claim settlements; and managing claims with outside adjusters and directing the course of legal defense. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of insurance principles and policies; litigation management experience; negotiation skills including mediation and settlement experience; experience directing the activities of independent adjusters and legal counsel; proper and casualty claims handling experience; and have experience with tort claims, comparative negligence laws, and rules of civil procedure and case law We serve Idaho by promoting responsible government through expert customer support.
Example of Duties:
Supervises, trains, evaluates and provides daily direction to claims staff; Assigns new claims for investigation/adjudication; Audits claim files for accuracy and compliance with rules and statutes; Manages litigation processes; Receives, reviews, processes, investigates, adjusts and authorizes settlements for complex claims; Prepares new litigated cases for legal defense assignment to outside counsel; Acts as primary liaison between state agencies and adjusters, attorneys and insurance companies; Manages and oversees outside adjuster and legal counsel assignments and works closely with assigned adjusters and attorneys; Approves and monitors the Risk Management personnel budget, training budget and subrogation receipts section of the overall budget; Monitors claim funds and identifies errors in the claim system; Develops training programs for internal and external customers. •
Minimum Qualifications:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below . Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position. Minimum Qualifications (required): Competency in management and demonstrated leadership skills. (Typically, this requires considerable experience managing a major program and leadership of professional staff. Candidates may also qualify through upper division college-level management coursework and experience in a significant leadership role.) Experience analyzing complex management issues and developing recommendations for improvement. Experience conducting fact-finding interviews and interpreting statistical and narrative information. Desirable Qualifications (not required but may improve your score): Experience analyzing risk management and safety policies and programs for compliance with applicable statutes, standards, rules and best practices. Experience managing program development and improving performance. Experience analyzing data, preparing reports, and making oral presentations about findings.
