Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Job Summary:
Provides direct support to the Associate Vice President, Quality and Risk Management in the day-to-day management of risk related issues including investigating, managing and analyzing risk management data; complying with risk management standards of the Joint Commission, other regulatory agencies and the MD Office of Health Care Quality; and serving as a subject matter expert to provide consultation to clinical practitioners. This individual participates in formulating risk reduction strategies, policy and/or organizational changes throughout the health system.
Education:
BSN preferred. Baccalaureate degree in related field considered.
Registration/Certification/Licensure:
CPHQ or CPHRM certification preferred. Maryland RN licensure for nursing professionals
Experience:
Minimum five years clinical staff experience in healthcare, preferably hospital environment, required.
Other Requirements:
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements. Previous experience with quality and/or risk management preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills (both verbal and written) is critical. Ability and desire to lead large programs which include working with multidisciplinary teams and making public presentations. Ability to handle multiple tasks with strong prioritization skills is essential. Thorough knowledge of medical terminology & medical record procedures, a must. Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills (mainly Microsoft Office products) necessary to effectively complete position requirements. Experience with formulating reports and graphics preferred. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with administration, providers, department managers, and other health system personnel.
