Qualifications:
College hours, high school diploma or GED Minimum 2 years of successful office experience Proficient typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to organize and self motivate, work with deadlines and handle interruptions Excellent telephone and public relations skills Flexible in work situation Expertise with budget and general bookkeeping Excel in grammar, spelling, and composition skills Work with confidential material
Primary Purpose:
Provide secretarial support and office management for the director
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily telephone and mail communication. Manage payroll deduction adjustments. Correspond with employees regarding payroll adjustments. Type correspondence, reports, agendas, memos, etc. Assist with enrollments and/or benefit changes as required. Assist with the adjudication of all benefit related issues. Coordinate communications with department personnel. Greet and assist visitors and district personnel. Maintain appointment calendar. Arrange for conferences and interviews. Maintain filing system. Perform all duties of the departmental finance clerk. Prepare regular and special reports as requested by the Director. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer, typewriter, printer, copier, calculator, phone, scanner, and fax machine.
Working Conditions:
Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions, bending, stooping, squatting, standing, reaching, prolonged sitting, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
