Trader for Erudite Trading LLC in Miami, FL, to work closely with a team of researchers and engineers to operate and continuously improve the firms electronic options market-making activities. The role is responsible for generating profits through volatility trading, liquidity provision, and position management across index and equity options markets.
Key responsibilities:
Pricing and managing option risk, maintaining orderly markets, and actively managing inventory and portfolio exposures. The market maker monitors and adjusts Greeks and other risk metrics in real time, ensuring adherence to firm-defined risk limits and exchange requirements. The role involves both systematic and discretionary trading activity, including configuring and adjusting trading parameters that govern automated quoting behavior, as well as manually entering, modifying, or removing orders in response to changing market conditions. Market makers interact directly with brokers and counterparties, responding to inbound liquidity requests and determining appropriate prices and trade sizes. They also collaborate with internal teams to refine trading models, execution logic, and infrastructure, and to develop new strategies or enhance existing ones across current and prospective markets.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus four (4) years of experience as a Trader or an options market-maker or related role. Or, alternatively, a Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus six (6) years of experience as a Trader or an options market-maker or related role. Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Options market-making strategies, including volatility-based pricing models, delta-neutral positioning, and bid-ask spread capture across index and equity options; Designing, back-testing, and evaluating algorithmic trading strategies, with a focus on execution efficiency, latency considerations, and performance attribution; Advanced knowledge of U.S. options market structure, exchange fee schedules, order types, and market data, with the ability to identify and exploit pricing inefficiencies; Managing high-volume electronic order flow using automated trading systems, including interaction with brokers, exchanges, and liquidity-provision mechanisms; Real-time risk monitoring and control, including management of Greeks, inventory exposure, and parameter-driven risk limits within automated trading environments.
