Job Description
We are seeking a candidate available to work at our Covington, KY location.
OVERVIEW OF MCF MCF
is an investment management company that serves clients through three divisions: Wealth Management Services, Retirement Plan Services, and Institutional Investment Services. The Wealth Management Division provides investment management and comprehensive financial planning services to individuals, families, and privately-owned business owners. The Retirement Plan Division serves clients as a "Chief Retirement Plan Officer", providing fiduciary investment advice, plan governance, plan design consulting, vendor selections and interfacing, and participant education services. In addition, the Retirement Plan Division provides investment management for defined benefit plans, deferred compensation plans, and health insurance trusts. The Institutional Investment Division provides investment management and consulting services to pension plans, endowments, foundations, and private family offices. MCF is a Securities and Exchange Commission registered investment advisor. Job Summary The Trader will be responsible for executing trades in client accounts, asset allocation/IPS monitoring, portfolio accounting/reporting database management, composite performance tracking, providing support for the investment operations of the firm, and assistance with compliance requests, as needed. This position will work closely with other members of the Investment Department to implement the investment functions of the firm. The candidate can expect to focus their activities on trading and operational issues but be agile enough to provide support to various investment activities, as needed. The Trader will be heavily involved in the implementation and monitoring of client investment strategies, especially model portfolios. The position requires an ability to effectively communicate (clearly and timely) with Financial Advisors to ensure timely execution of investment strategies. The position will offer exposure to a wide array of investment concepts and ideas, while providing opportunities for both professional and personal growth at a rapidly growing SEC Registered Investment Adviser ("RIA"). Duties and Responsibilities Execute requested trades Monitor adherence to investment objectives/model tolerance, cash balances, and outlier positions in client accounts Execute individual client dollar-cost averaging strategies Maintain composite performance Manage the maintenance of trading models, recording trade instructions/notes, reconciling trades, and ensuring accurate account grouping for portfolio and household reporting Accurately document and record trading activity information within the Firm's CRM software Continually educating oneself on the capabilities of the firm's trading software as well as recommending improvements to the overall trading process Take ownership of client portfolio data, ensuring accurate client account information by maintaining portfolio management systems (trading & reporting) and securities databases Ensure accurate reporting of private placements, and other unique client reporting requirements which require Manual Security Snapshots Assist with research for newsletters, presentations, and other website/client communications Communicate closely with other departments for trade-related requests or issues Provide backup support to other roles within the firm and IMD, especially the CIO, Investment Analysts, Investment Associates, and Investment Operations roles Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting • FINRA Series 65 License, or ability to obtain within first three months of employment Knowledge of investments and an understanding of how various instruments (i.e., stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETF's, etc.) trade Experience using Tamarac (or similar reporting/trading software) is a plus Ability to complete an account reconciliation Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and complete tasks within a given timeframe Ability to apply educational background and current capital market events to an investment strategy and desire expand current knowledge and learn new financial concepts Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel A congenial disposition and ability to work in a team environment Self-motivated, highly analytical, ability to work independently as well as in a team atmosphere Personal characteristics: Client-first attitude, team player, desire to grow and expand personal knowledge, organized, extremely attentive to details and an ability to think objectively and criticallyJob Type:
