Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to provide legal support for commercial transactions, energy trading activities, procurement, technology, logistics, and regulatory matters. This attorney will serve as a key legal advisor to commercial, supply, trading, risk, credit, compliance, and operational teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesStructure, draft, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial and energy-related agreements.

Advise business teams on legal risks, transaction structures, and commercial strategies related to energy supply, trading, transportation, storage, and logistics activities.

Negotiate and support physical and financial commodity transactions involving petroleum products, natural gas, power, environmental products, and related energy commodities.

Draft and negotiate master trading agreements, credit support arrangements, transaction confirmations, and related commercial documentation.

Review and negotiate transportation, pipeline, rail, marine, terminal, storage, throughput, lease, and confidentiality agreements.

Provide guidance on compliance and regulatory matters involving federal and state energy regulations.

Partner closely with commercial, supply, trading, risk management, credit, and compliance teams.

Manage outside counsel and external advisors as needed.

Represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, service providers, counterparties, and governmental agencies.

Support other commercial and regulatory initiatives as assigned.
