Job Description

Partner, Tax Strategy & Advisory (CPA) Cambium Tax Planners — Flagstaff, Arizona Full-time | Leadership role | Partnership track | Relocation support available Help build a modern tax practice. Cambium Tax Planners is looking for an experienced CPA to help lead and grow our tax practice alongside our wealth management and law firms. Over the past year, our wealth firm has had more demand for tax planning and preparation than our current capacity can support. We're looking for the right person to help us expand and integrate thoughtfully; someone who wants meaningful influence over the direction of a practice, enjoys working directly with clients, and is interested in a long-term leadership or ownership opportunity. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys both the technical side of tax work and the broader advisory side of working with business owners, families, and high-net-worth clients. We are not looking for someone trying to get away from tax work entirely. The right candidate genuinely enjoys the craft of tax planning, technical problem solving, and helping clients make smarter long-term decisions. What You'll Do Client Work & Tax Planning Prepare and review complex individual, trust, partnership, and business tax returns Provide proactive tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and business owners Work directly with clients on multi-year planning opportunities Research tax issues and develop practical solutions Coordinate with wealth advisors and attorneys on integrated planning strategies Practice Leadership Help lead and shape the future direction of the tax practice Improve workflows, systems, and client experience over time Help guide tax-season processes, review standards, and quality control Assist with technology improvements and operational scalability Team Development Mentor and support the staff accountant and bookkeeping team Help foster a collaborative and supportive culture Participate in future hiring and team development as the practice grows Growth & Strategy Help expand the firm's capacity responsibly Contribute ideas around pricing, service models, and ideal client fit Build deeper relationships with existing clients and referral partners About Cambium Cambium is an integrated wealth management, tax, and law firm serving individuals, families, and business owners throughout northern Arizona and beyond. Our firms work closely together to provide coordinated planning across investments, taxes, estate planning, and business strategy. We're building a long-term platform focused on collaboration, sustainability, and deep client relationships rather than siloed services and constant production pressure. We care a lot about quality of life, strong team culture, and building something durable over time. What We're Looking For Active CPA license (Arizona license or ability to obtain) 7+ years of tax preparation, review, and advisory experience Strong experience with complex individual, trust, and business returns Comfortable leading client relationships independently Experience working with business owners and high-net-worth clients Strong technical tax knowledge and attention to detail Supervisory or mentoring experience preferred Collaborative personality and strong communication skills Interest in improving systems, processes, and the overall client experience Why Flagstaff Flagstaff offers a unique combination of professional opportunity and quality of life. We're surrounded by mountains, trails, and public land, with four real seasons and easy access to places like Sedona, the Grand Canyon, and Lake Powell. It's a smaller community where relationships matter, people stay long term, and you can build both a meaningful career and a meaningful life.
